Group Activity: Each group will research and present to the class their findings on one of the following countries that practice or practiced communism; Russia, China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Cuba. Each group will respond to the essential questions below and will include written, oral, and visual elements. Each group will be responsible for an oral presentation, visual aids (including a map of your country), and a copy of your research that includes references. Adhere to rubric.
    1. When and how was communism introduced into the country you are researching and how effective was the communist leadership?
    2. What specific economic policies were initiated by the communist government and were they achieved?
    3. What has been the long term relationship between the United States and the country you are researching? (Timeline may be helpful)
    4. How has the relationship changed in recent years and what is the current status?
    5. How has the current government modified its views to be more tolerant of a free market economy? (Recent news article)
